About us
The Butler’s Arms is a proper family business focused on delivering true hospitality; a warm welcom, great drinks and super food.
Paula (mum) keeps a watchful eye over the kitchen. She pretty much oversees everything from menu development through to sourcing the best local produce and bringing it all together to make the wonderful dishes you’ll find on our menus. Becki (daughter) runs the rest of the pub. She’s fuelled by some pretty exceptional management skills which she delivers with an abundance of smiles, laughter and unwavering sarcasm, all inhertied from the wonderful Chris.
Of course, we’ve got great beer and all the usual drinks but everyone talks about our food…and our hospitality, and our eclectic (some say weird) taste in furnishings and décor, and our toilets (you’ll love our lavs!), our coffee, our home made gins and ever changing wine list, and…did we mention the food? We’re a bit different and (we’re told) a bit good at what we do best; making people happy.

We’re on the Lichfield Road just out of Mere Green towards Lichfield but set back just a smidge so look out for the sign. Hop off at Butlers Lane if you’re on the train.

Went for dinner whilst staying with a friend. From the outside just looked like a normal village pub, inside was like what a pub should look like, great atmosphere. The food was amazing as was the staff and the service. Will definitely revisit next time I’m in Sutton Coldfield. Recommend to any one looking for a great place to have a meal. The Butlers Arms is the culinary equivalent of finding a fiver in your old jeans – pure joy and great value! The food here is a delightful fusion of pub comfort and restaurant flair, but with prices that won't make your wallet cry. Everything is home-cooked and fresh, which is probably why my meal tasted like it was made by someone’s nan with a Michelin star. If you’re looking for a place where your taste buds get a fine dining experience while your wallet enjoys a happy hour, this is it. Plus, where else can you eat a gourmet steak while sitting next to a bloke in a football jersey debating the finer points of the offside rule? Cheers to The Butlers Arms – the place where posh and pub unite! 🍻 We haven't been to the Butlers Arms for some time sort was really great to find that nothing had changed the welcome fantastic and sincere, the service and food superb we could not fault it (the baked feta was amazing) and the atmosphere warm and safe. We will definitely not leave it as long for our next visit.

Plenty of choice from 3 menus, we went for the a la carte. Staff were very helpful and attentive, food was delicious and portion size was just right.
The one thing I would recommend is booking a table, there were no spares on the night that we went (Tuesday)
All in all, a brilliant night, can recommend it to everyone (especially if you like fishy dishes 😊) Second visit and I really love this place, but the vegetarian choice is severely lacking. Only one vegan and no vegetarian option for a main course. There is so much choice for the fish and meat eaters I can't understand why. Starters and puddings were amazing. Great local for us with eclectic decor, good honest home- cooked, ‘clean’ food, terrific well- stocked bar, carefully thought out wine list, guest beers on tap and live music once a month. This place deserves to continue to ride high and be well- supported. Amazing pub!! We had booked this for a family meal of 10 (incl 2 children) and the service and staff were so accommodating. We all had some form of beef in our meals (Sunday roast, beef fillet, slow cooked blade), there was no trouble in providing kids portions and food was cooked wonderfully. One also had the mussels and she loved it. Picture of the roast beef doesn’t do it justice but it was so well cooked with a huge Yorkshire pudding! Everything was priced very well and the quality was certainly there. Can’t complain about anything, great food, great atmosphere, very lovely service from all the staff members we spoke with and thank you so much for supporting a large group of us. Would highly recommend anyone to go! Thanks again all at The Butlers Arms - great gem in Sutton Coldfield. My wife and I went here last Monday for our 52nd wedding anniversary and as usual a great meal, very attentive attention and good value for money. The barman that greeted us and served us was excellent and very funny. Thanks to everyone.
