Car Parking – Important Notice

We have a car parking system installed to discourage non-patrons from using our car park. It DOES require guests to enter their car registration numbers onto a touch screen (at the bar) on arrival. No pay and display, no minimum spend. There is no parking charge for bona fide guests. (We will remind you when you come in).

About us

The Butler’s Arms is a proper family business focused on true hospitality, delivering a warm welcome, great drinks and super food. Whilst mum Paula keep a watchful eye over everything, daughter Becki (fuelled by exceptional management skills and an abundance of smiles and laughter) runs the pub and talented son/brother Dan heads up the kitchen brigade.

Of course, we’ve got great beer and all the usual drinks but everyone talks about our food…and our hospitality, and our eclectic (some say weird) taste in furnishings and décor, and our toilets (you’ll love our lavs!), our coffee, our home made gins and ever changing wine list, and…did we mention the food? We’re a bit different and (we’re told) a bit good at what we do best; making people happy.

  • Always have a good time here on the many times we have been, the quirky decor adds to the experience. Nice choice of drinks, friendly staff and good food. The specials are always worth a try.

Friendly staff. We were told the chicken would take 30mins to cook so we opted for alternatives. Asked for garlic bread but sadly wasn't any. The roast beef, although I'm told tasted good was swimming in gravy. My friend questioned this and we were given a free pudding. Only small things but worth a mention.

Not been here for quite a while, so we thought we pay a visit. Had the ham,egg and chips, with pineapple chutney, husband had the corned beef hash, washed down with the plum porter ale. Food was delicious, had the cheeseboard and strawberry cheesecake for afters. Service was great, definitely be back. Remember it been the New Inns many years ago and my local.

Service was fast and the food was tasty! Great atmosphere and buzz in the evening. Only recommendation is some sharper knives if possible!

Quirky place serving really good food with cheerful, freindly staff. Drinks can be expensive but this place is a family run pub. Only downside is the toilets. These are a wee bit tired looking and need cleaning/ brightening up.

  • An excellent pub with an ever changing range of real ales on tap. Food is always top notch and obviously prepared and cooked with care. The cocktails are definitely worth a look too!

Had a meal celebrating my sister's birthday. The service was excellent, overall our dishes were good, three of us had fish dishes. I had the smoked haddock which was correctly cooked and flaky. One of the party had the beef lunch which they found under seasoned that and a portion of extra vegetables were beyond Al dente these minor missteps won't stop me returning.

Went as a family party on a Friday evening. You must book ahead as it is very popular and rightly so. Superb fish dinner with a plate of mussels for us all as a starter. Cooked to perfection with service to match. First time for us since the lockdown and the new to us decor is excellent. Definitely, repeat definitely going again.
