All that Festive Malarky…
Wine Tasting Evening – Sunday 19th November
I always intend to run more of these events than I actually do. Limited (by space) to around 50 odd tickets, we always sell out pretty quickly – Please get booking soon if your interested! We’ll have at least six cracking wines (I usually add one or two more at the last minute). We’ll talk a bit about what we’re sampling and Paula will be knocking up some nibbly bits for us to try and pair with the wines. (Tickets are £30 per person).
N.B. I’m planning on a bit of a ‘Chocolate & Booze’ themed evening in January –
Please do watch out for details if you are interested in attending.
Charity Quiz Night – Sun 3rd December
We’ve decided to have a charity Quiz Night with proceeds going to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Hosted by the very charming and politically correct Chris Giles and Keith Ward.
In order to rinse a little bit more (charity) money out of you delightful people we’ll be having a raffle on the night as well.
Health Warning: The hosts/comperes are generally not THAT offensive, however we cannot guarantee that inappropriate jokes/banter may ensue. if you are easily offended this may not be for you.
Questions will range from (mostly) general knowledge to the more random/obscure.
The restaurant will be closed however burgers/bar snacks will be available 6.00-9.00pm
We are open for most of the festive period, however we have been very self indulgent and decided to shut up shop for the odd day or two. In a nutshell we’re closed on 26th & 27th, New Years Day and the 4th January, other than that we’re pretty much open for business.
Full details of opening hours are available here.
Rather than do a ‘set’ menu we shall be offering our regular menu but adding a few ‘Festive’ seasonal dishes to it. You can have a peep at all of our sample menus here. We also continue our regular offers throughout the month.
Did you know that main courses on our lunch menu are priced at a bargainous £7.25 (although the full restaurant menu is also available as well).
Please note that there may be some small changes from the menus published on the website.
Full details of all our offers can be seen a bit further down this page.
The mulled wine season will be kicking off in the next week or two. Please note that ours is NOT the shop-bought pre-bottled stuff, rather our own recipe, concocted with fruit, spices and love, oh, and wine obviously.
(It’s also considerably stronger than the shop-bought stuff. Be warned!)
If you’re not a mulled wine fan, you may like to try our Hedgerow Bellini,
made with blackberries and home-infused gin and topped up with Prosecco.
Just a little mention – If you’re stuck for pressie ideas for Auntie Joan et al – We do sell gift vouchers. Available in any denomination you like. Unfortunately not available online, but just pop in and we’ll sort you one out.
(You know, you really might as well have a glass of something whilst you are here.)
The restaurant will be open for Sunday lunch as usual, closing at 4.00pm. In the evening we will be open for drinks until midnight and we’ll be serving a few complimentary nibbles throughout the night.
Do come on down and enjoy the party.
The bar will be open from Midday until 3.00pm
Please don you Christmas jumper.
Lunch is now fully booked.
New Year’s Eve – Restaurant and Bar
Lunch will be served until 3.00pm (Sunday Lunch menu).
Our New Years Eve Dinner Menu is available to view here. Early booking is advised as we are filling up fast.
If don’t want dinner but feel the urge to join us for a bit of a knees up in the bar as part of your New Year’s Celebrations you will be very welcome.
– There’s no charge, no tickets, no undue fuss.
Towards the end of dinner we shall be cranking the music up and having a bit of a party.
The bar generally closes about 1.00am ish – We’re getting too old for the hardcore late nights!
Staff Party – Evening Closure
On Thursday the 4th January we’ll be closed in the evening for our Staff Christmas Party.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused
